Avaraikai (Hyacinth Beans) Rice
Avaraikai Rice
Have with Veg. Gravy or Channa Masala
Ingredients
- Avarakai (Hyacinth Beans or Broad Beans) - 1 cup (Cut into thin stripes)
- Spices (Cinnamon, Cloves, Bay Leaves, Cardamom, Star Aniseed(Annasi Poo)) - 2 pieces each
- Green chilli(2), Ginger(1 inch piece), Garlic(5 cloves), Fresh Coriander(1 bunch) - Grind to paste
- Ghee - 2 tbsp
- Cashew - 5
- Salt
- Basmati Rice or Seeraga Samba Rice - 200 gm
- Mango, if u like - 2 long pieces, cut into thin stripes
Process
- Take ghee in the cooker.
- Add spices, grounded paste, avaraikai and fry a little.
- Add mango stripes, soaked rice, water (400 ml) and salt.
- Cook till 3/4th done.
