Avaraikai (Hyacinth Beans) Rice


Avaraikai Rice



Ingredients

  • Avarakai (Hyacinth Beans or Broad Beans) - 1 cup (Cut into thin stripes)



  • Spices (Cinnamon, Cloves, Bay Leaves, Cardamom, Star Aniseed(Annasi Poo)) - 2 pieces each
  • Green chilli(2), Ginger(1 inch piece), Garlic(5 cloves), Fresh Coriander(1 bunch) - Grind to paste
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Cashew - 5
  • Salt 
  • Basmati Rice or Seeraga Samba Rice - 200 gm
  • Mango, if u like - 2 long pieces, cut into thin stripes



Process

  • Take ghee in the cooker.
  • Add spices, grounded paste, avaraikai and fry a little.
  • Add mango stripes, soaked rice, water (400 ml) and salt.
  • Cook till 3/4th done.
